Front Porch Halloween Decorating Tips - Tennessee Luxury Builder

Balance Your Décor

Too many decorations can make your front porch look cluttered and messy; too few and you risk people wondering if you aren’t celebrating. Use your front door as the centerpiece while you’re decorating, and step back after placing each element to make sure you’re creating a balanced look.

Enter… If You Dare

If you’re not putting out many Halloween decorations this year, a simple wreath, a scary ghost or a foreboding sign on the front door can pack a lot of punch.

Stringing cotton spider webs between pillars or posting a scary sentry, such as a life-sized zombie, skeleton or witch, can keep trick-or-treaters in good spirits when they make their way up to your door.

Plastic skulls with glow sticks inside make excellent lights for the sidewalk and front steps. If you’re feeling particularly crafty, cut spooky eye shapes from paper towel rolls and slide glow sticks inside; place them in the foliage around your porch for extra scares.

The Front Burial Grounds

Give your front lawn an eerie makeover by adding cardboard or foam grave markers, which are available at almost every Halloween superstore in town. Make them even creepier by dismantling a plastic skeleton and strategically placing the bones near the tombstones.
