First Time Buying a Custom Home – Here’s What You Need to Know

If you’re ready to buy your first custom home, you’re in luck – we can help.

But how is purchasing a custom home different from buying one that’s already been built?

Here’s everything you need to know.

Buying Your First Custom Home

When you’re purchasing a custom home, you probably already have your budget in mind and you know what you want it to look like when it’s finished.

While the actual purchase of the home is essentially the same as it would be with any other home (you’ll still have to obtain financing, participate in inspections and sign the dotted line), you’ll have to make several decisions along the way.

The First Questions Your Builder Will Have

The first time you get in touch with us, you’ll probably be full of questions. We will, too; we want to know all about your vision. Tell us what you expect from the custom homebuilding experience on your end, and what you expect from us – and certainly tell us what your dream home looks like.

Are you interested in a sprawling estate that has plenty of room for outdoor recreation, or would you prefer upscale living in a smart home that’s as automated as possible? We want to know so we can turn your wish list into a reality.

The Big Decisions in Buying a Custom Home

Some of the decisions you’ll make include approving or modifying a proposed floor plan. You might have to decide how you want the yard graded, which trees get to stay (and which need to go), and what kind of exterior you want your home to have.

Deciding on the “Little Things”

Once we’ve created the perfect floor plan, you’ll be able to further customize your home by choosing flooring, picking out gorgeous (and functional) countertops, and deciding on color schemes. You can even pick out cabinet handles, doorknobs and other “minor” details that really aren’t so minor when you live with them every day.

Buying a Custom Home Takes Time

The whole process takes time, but we’ll give you a specific timeline so you know exactly what to expect. Waiting for your custom home to be built is tough – we know from experience – but in the end, it’s so worth it.

Let’s discuss your options. Call us at 615-824-6970 or get in touch with us online so we can give your dream a home.  [gravityform id=”9″ title=”true” description=”true”]
